-You debuted on May and it’s already your 2nd year. Being the oldest from the group, What do you think of SHINee recently?
Onew: I think we are accustomed in many different ways. When we are going to do something before, we’re always shaking because we feel nervous. Of course it doesn’t mean that we are not nervous now, But we feel more comfortable when were going up on stage and have eye-contact with our fans, Since then we are having so much fun.
- Do you often have eye-contact with your fans?
Onew: Yes of course
- So during the time, do you stare at the fans eyes steadily?
Onew: I stare and show my smile.
- That will truly make the fans happy!
Onew: Yes. They feel happy so If we see their happy faces, we feel more happy.
- During your activities of your mini album “2009, YEAR OF US”, You often appeared at a variety shows right?
Onew: Yes, We are also getting accustomed to it and we enjoy it actively.
- Does Onew-Kun have interest to make people laugh?
Onew: Kwack!
- Eh? Eh? What?
Onew: Kwack! Kwack! Kwack! ^^

Onew: Two years have passed nearly so I had the time to show this kind of side.
- Can you tell us what kind of album do you listen recently?
Onew: Jamie Cullum’s 1st Album. I really really love the song “Twenty Something”. I also listen to George Benson.
- Besides music, What kind of things are you having fun?
Onew: I’m having fun recording and collecting the variety shows that I appeared and watch them.
- Do you really love yourself that much?
Onew: No! No! I’m not narcissistic ^^ It’s not like that, I’m convincing of what the people are reacting to me like the things I said, the things that I had done. I don’t have time to look myself at the actual spot so I check and get ready for the next recording.
- We are going to interview Jonghyun-kun next so do you have any message for him ?
Onew: I hope you will make more funny talk/stories. Please tell him! ^^

☆ Last year’s “SHINee Yunhanam” was really entertaining. (laughs) Honestly, it was real, right?
Jonghyun: Yes, of course it was real. The production team allowed us to freely do what we want; they only controlled the cameras.
Onew: They only told us to “Please use this way to initiate”.
Minho: When we first started, we had no idea what to do. So for the first episode, we followed what the writer told us to do.
Jonghyun: Yes, but when the first episode came out, we said, “It shouldn’t be like this”. So the members gathered together – we even had a meeting – and from then on, we decided to show our true selves. So towards the end of the series, it became more meaningful.
☆ When fighting to be the “noona’s” choice, was there any fighting?
Everyone: Of course not. (laughs)
Onew: The one that was chosen would go on the date. The rest of us were together and still had fun.
Jonghyun: We also made many memories together. Of course, we also had fun with the noona. (laughs)

☆ After this kind of “on-camera dating”, one must want a real date. What are the dream dates of each member?
Onew: Bungee jumping.
Jonghyun: So the both of you would jump down together?
Onew: You can do that? Ah, then it should be that way. There’s also flying boat, scuba diving, and rock climbing!
Jonghyun: You might as well go into the universe. (laughs)

Jonghyun: I want to turn off our cellphones after meeting up with each other and ride on the public bus together to the final stop.
Key: Why turn off your cellphones?
Jonghyun: So that we won’t be distracted/annoyed. And not on the subway because you can’t see outside; it’s suffocating.
Everyone: Oh~ so nice!
Jonghyun: Ah, I’m a true pro! (laughs)
Taemin: I want to go on many vacations. I also want to go to foreign countries & play at amusement parks.
Key: Then you must wear sunscreen.
Taemin: I also want to go to the theater to watch movies. And to go to the seaside.
Minho: I also want to go to the theater. Although this is very common for normal couples, I’ve never experienced it before. We can go shopping together, each dinner. And my favorite sport – it may be too tiring, so we can just go watch baseball or soccer games together. Recently, there are many sporting events.
Jonghyun: Yeah, and when your team wins, you can kiss. (laughs)
Minho: If we really won, then the atmosphere might be so that I have to kiss the girl no matter what. (laughs)

☆ After revealing SHINee‘s dorm, it became a hot topic. I can’t believe that the home of 5 guys can be that neat. Usually…
Onew: We usually are that neat!
Jonghyun: The reason why is because no one is really messy. When we finish using something, we know where to put it back.

☆ Everyone sleeps in one room; the positioning of the beds are also really unique. How did you decide on who sleeps where?
Jonghyun: There wasn’t any method that we used to decide. We just chose whichever bed we wanted.
Onew: All five of us chose.
Jonghyun: There are two bunk beds, so the ones who wanted a bunk bed didn’t have to fight. Why? Because in the beginning, everyone thought that any bed would be okay. (laughs)

☆ What would you do in the dorms?
Jonghyun: Our lifestyle is really unique, and everyone’s interests/hobbies are different.

Jonghyun: Minho really likes reading and reading books related to sports. He would also go online to watch sports games/tournaments and play soccer games.
Key: Minho really reads a lot of books.

morning, I still had the exited feeling.Minho: I though it was a really~ fun event.Onew: and the cheering from the fans.Jonghyun: I was really moved the moment I came up on stage. When everybody else stood up with us.- At that moment, the reaction was really fast!Jonghyun: Yes. I was really happy about it.Taemin: but still I don’t think yesterday stage was perfect. There were some parts where i thought we could’ve done it better..it’s always the same part.Onew: Yeah. If we were more ready, we could leave the fans with good memories. Next time, we will practice more and do that part better.- It felt like you’ve practiced so much.Taemin: But still we want to find a way to be with the fans…- What? you were with them! You had a high-touch with everyone, and there was one-only-gift for individuals.Taemin: Yes but… we want to do it slowly (laugh)Minho: But it became a stage that we would be remembered specially. That’s for sure.Onew: There was a specially section. There were questions that
wouldn’t be asked in Korea so it was fun.- Oh yeah, there was “Who is the cry baby?” questioned?Onew: It’s jonghyun (At the same time, Key and Minho and Taemin pointed at Jonghyun as well.)- Oh yes (laugh) On music bank, when you were shining at 1st place with “Juliette”…
Jonghyun: ah~~~~~(laugh)- Did you cry a lot?Jonghyun: Yes (laugh). It was the first recording show when we got the 1st place for “Juliette”. So the thankful feeling for those who helped us suddenly over flowed in my heart, that’s why I shed tears.- It wasn’t just shedding tears but crying out loud (laugh)Jonghyun: Yes (laugh) I couldn’t stop crying. so I cried in SUPER JUNIOR’s chest.(laugh)Minho: Oh, yeah! last time, when we released “ROMEO”, we had a interview in Korea, right?- Yes (laugh)Jonghyun: Ohoh! That time we, ourselves got the “ROMEO”CD for the first time, we were hyped.- Let’s look back at solo corners. First taemin.Taemin: I danced. I tried to show the powerful feeling because I was the first out of five like for example, the part where I ripped the outfit.- I was really surprised.Taemin: If you felt that way, it was a success (laugh)- In last interview, we remember you saying “I respect Michael Jackson”. Last July…Taemin: He passed away. I couldn’t believe it at first.Jonghyun: It’s sad that we won’t able to see him anymore.Taemin: want to always enjoy the left music and MVs.- And 2nd Onew.Onew: Yes. I sang Shin Seung Hoon “I believe” in Japanese. I chose it because I heard it was famous in japan too. But the reaction was a bit weak…- No, it wasn’t!?Onew: So, I thought, maybe my Japanese pronunciation was bad so they didn’t realize that it was “I believe”.- No no. There were lot of people who sang with you.Onew: if there was, it fine. (laugh) I thank the fans because I was nervous to sing alone but they watched me.- Followed by Minho.Minho: I sang Hocooyama mashaharoo’s “milk tea”. I think it was the first time singing solo on a stage. So I was really nervous. But I’m satisfied by myself because I was able to show them a different image from daily.- Did you know that “Milk Tea”’s lyrics were from a female point of view?Minho : Yes. Someone I know recommended me the song, and told me the lyrics. So I said I will do and I found more about Hocooyama mashaharoo, I wanted to know I more about the person because he was someone that one should look up to.- 4th Jonghyun.Jonghyun: yes. I sang hirai kan’s “瞳をとじて” (Hitomi Wo Tojite). In korea, there is a singer, Jung Jae Ook who did a cover song. I wanted to let them know so I sang in Korean and Japanese mixed. Also I thought it was a good idea to mix Korea and Japan.- It was really moving and you sang so well.Jonghyun: Thank you. I understood the lyrics and sang it, so I was able to give that kind of vocal.- Lastly Key. What can I say.. you took the best parts at the end. (laugh)Key: I sang “チョコレイト・ディスコ” (Chocolate Disco) sung by Perfume. (laugh)- You can say it was the dancing part?, They followed you perfectly. It’s like you, key who likes J-POP.Key: I wanted to make it a highlight since my performance was the last. I thought, wouldn’t they have fun if I, who is a male sang Perfume. Even tough I was a bit embarrassing.- It didn’t look like you were embarrassed at all. (laugh)Key: No no, my face was a bit read(laugh). At the end, all 4 came on and danced together. I was satisfied as the atmosphere went really UP.Minho: That’s obvious. - SHINee’s latest news arrived! “AMIGO” album that was a big hit in Korea, will be released in Japan on 9th of December.Taemin: We are really happy to able to release our first album “AMIGO” in Japan.Onew: “ROMEO” that was released on June, followed by this. It’s the 2nd work in Japan!- But this (AMIGO Ablum) came first in korea right?Onew: Yes. In korea, It was released last year on August.- Do you remember your feelings at that time?Jonghyun : We were nervous of what they would say about us…but, other than that, happy feeling was bigger.key: not just the great songs but the recording was fun. And I remember the practices.- Song that is hard to sing?.Jonghyun: “Hey Ya”. The original song is chanson, so I wondered many times how i should sing this.- A song that is perfect when one’s happy?Key: “Love Like Oxygen”? funky like disco rhythm that reminds of Michael Jackson. When listening, don’t you wanna move naturally?- And when one’s sad and lonely?Onew: “In My Room” which is about one thinking about a lover who is not there. You can listen the Unplugged version which is without the sad feeling.- When one’s in a sweet mood?Taemin: “Love’s Way”. Catchy melody and harmony will make you happier.- Is there any parts that you changed after the release of the album?Minho: Started to enjoy on stages. Obviously I still get nervous but when I hear the fans cheering, I feel like “I am happy.”- If you right now were to say something to yourselves a year ago?Key: Do your best to show a great stage!Jonghyun: Grow more and more!

SHINee does the “JAPAN 1st mini live and fan meeting” in Nakano Sun Plaza on August 10. It was their first time in Japan and their first performance. Furthermore, the members announced their first solo performance on stage for the first time. We interviewed them for their first appearance of this magazine and bind as a theme.We will understand how they first formed and their roots.“Comparing at the beginning, we are able to show out our true colors little by little.”
Q: This time, since it’s your “first time” we would like to hear your “When _ _ for the first time” as a theme topic. First of all, Please let me hear your memories when everybody gathered for the first time as SHINee.
Minho: Since before debut and as a trainee, we really get along very well. The first time we gathered as SHINee until now, we don’t change.
Q: It was often that you’re all together since your trainee days?
Onew: We are always together. Like eating out together…
Q: After you finished practicing, do you also go back altogether?
Taemin: Yes it is. Since we all stayed together in the dormitory, we are all together time to time.
Key: We’re all five. I’m so glad when it’s decided that I’m being part of the group. I don’t have to be worried with our team work.
Jonghyun: Since the beginning I’m so excited. I got the feeling where “from now on, it’s our time to start!”
Q: Do you still remember when you went to the stage for the first time as SHINee?
Jonghyun: I absolutely remember. I’m so nervous before going on the stage but when I went to the stage it was fun.
Onew: My family even came to see me. We just debuted but many fans were cheering for us. I was very happy.
Key: I also don’t even forget that moment.
Q: If you see your first debut performance, it was just 1 year ago; do you feel any changes now?
Taemin: I think we changed. At first I think there’s a part were we doesn’t go well…
Jonghyun: Our hairstyle is even different.
Key: I need to say this from myself, I think we got matured. We are able to show out our true colors little by little.
Q: So there’s a big growth just for 1 year. By the way, do you call your members before going to the stage?
Jonghyun: All 5 of us call.
Key: Since our first stage performance until now that doesn’t change.
Taemin: We shout like “Fighting!”
“When we received our first CD I felt mysterious.”
Q: Then as follows, do you remember when your first CD was completed and received it?
Key: I can’t believe that even the CD is not out yet, I received it directly. When I received the CD, I thought to myself, “Is it really fine!? Is it really fine?!”I remembered when I felt mysterious when receiving the CD. Every time when our CD, DVD and Photo book will come out, I will not open the cover but just keep it. That’s how important our thing is.
Minho: I’m same as Key, I can’t believe at first. When I received the CD at that time,
I strongly thought to me that “I should work hard more!” It shows our hard work since our trainee days until now.
Taemin: As for me, I’m still starting. I thought that I should work harder too.
It was my dream to reach this and now I achieved. I always think of the next goal.
Q: How about Jonghyun goon? Where is your first CD now?
Jonghyun: It’s in our home. I keep it safely, it’s the most important and I treasure this 1 piece.
Onew: The first CD was our first recording at that time so I felt that our voice was a little different but our hard works were here. For us it has a lot of memories so I treasure this piece.
Q: Now let’s talk about the next “first time”, How about SHINee cried for the first time?
Onew: I cried when we finished our very first performance on stage. I felt touched.
Minho: Also, I cried when I heard that “Juliette” was no.1 in Korea.
Q: Do you cry altogether or cry separately?
Jonghyun: I think we don’t cry together, what do you think?
Key: Because each of the members has different feelings of happiness…
Q: By the way, who is the person who shows out his feelings the most?
Taemin: Jonghyun
Key & Onew: It is so (laughs)
Jonghun: Yes, I think so (laughs)
Q: Now, it’s your first visit in Japan, Can you tell us what you learned and what words you remember?
Minho: Our stay in Japan was very short so we don’t have time to remember those words but I knew that there are passionate fans out there. And then, I also knew that we even have several older fans who cheered for us, I was so impressed.
Taemin: It was remaining impressive to me that our fans that looked and cheered for us warmly are like a girl with pure feelings. I also knew this time that even we have younger fans, we also have older fans.
Q: By the way, how was your first food in Japan?
Taemin: Takoyaki, It was very delicious! (Laughs). I also ate “tonkatsu and sushi.” I ate a lot.
(Do you really ate a lot Taeminnie?!!!)
Q: Jonghyun goon what Japanese words do you learned this time?
Jonghyun: (While noisily playing his legs/foot?) umm…It might be, I knew the word “Konbanwa” even before. Also, “Arigatou”(Thank you), “Sumimasen”(Sorry), “Oishii” (Delicious) Ah, I learned just before the word “Takoyaki Oishii!” (Takoyaki is delicious) (Laughs)
Q: What do you think of your Japanese fans?
Jonghyun: Pure feeling and listen to our songs well. How will I explain it, they look like a girl.., they think of the lyrics, feel the nuance and cheer for us. It’s very impressing.
(He thinks that Japanese fans listen to their songs calmly while they are performing on stage.)
Q: Now Key goon, any Japanese words you learned?
Key: Recently, actually at yesterday’s event, I told to the woman and called her “obaasan” (older woman, ajumma), and I heard that it’s impolite to call her “obaasan”. I learned that it’s correct to call “Oneesan” (older sister, noona)
(I was in the fan meeting and I heard Key called the fan who is around in her 60′s said “Obaasan” to her LOL. There is a corner where SHINee teaches Juliette’s dance choreo, all of us stood up and dance XD Key spotted her and said “The ajumma there is so good at dancing!” OK, I laughed so hard because here in Japan, it’s impolite to call somebody like that. So the MC said to Key that call her noona instead of ajumma lols. Key’s expression was so cute XD he looked shocked haha!
Q: That is important (Laughs). I thought that Key goon spoke a lot of Japanese words at yesterday’s fan meeting.
Key: Everyday, I learned a little by little. I love watching Japanese dramas and variety shows. I’m learning while watching the program.
(he talked about 1 litre of tears again and he loves it.)
